I fell flat on my face.
How the hell should a person like being woken up by an alarm clock at 4:59 in the morning, jumping out of bed, dressing in black and white, choking on his food, brushing his teeth, combing his hair, and making his way chaotically through traffic to a place where he is making a lot of money for someone else and still expects to be grateful for it?
If this is what your day job looks like and you don’t like it, then you have every reason and every right to want out of this idiotic cycle of society.
We spend too much of our lives at work not to enjoy ourselves.
You will be confronted with social Matrix moments again and again. Especially with your colleagues who want to fall flat on their faces on Fridays.
This also happens: others may notice your insecurity, your hesitation and even get jealous that you want to change something. Maybe the world if you are as brave as Elon Musk.
Acknowledge that you are trapped in Society’s Matrix
Everyone knows the Matrix.
Your friends, acquaintances and colleagues who are trapped in it. But hardly anyone thinks they are in the middle of it.
Most people want more than just doing time and making money.
Your own work should have a purpose and also be fun.
We don’t want a job, we want to turn passions into a profession. A wonderful idea that is destroyed by the social Matrix.
The social Matrix is what you strive for, work hard, kick and fight — and end up treading water.
You are stuck in ruts , nothing changes and even if you give it your all, the wheel spins faster without any additional benefit.
Frustration and dissatisfaction at work are the consequences.
The problem with this: It takes a while before you realize that things are not going up. Better to recognize early enough that you are stuck in the social Matrix.
These are the 12 things that society wants you to do with your money:
Every day is absolutely the same (Buying the same things) .
You have big dreams that you are no closer to achieving. (Financial freedom, because you spend it all)
You get upset with your situation and continue in the same way (Spending to please everyone).
You only do what others expect of you.
Already on Monday, you hope that soon it will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday again. (To fall flat on your face with friends)
You only do your job for the salary at the end of the month. (Say goodbye to financial freedom)
Change scares you (Starting a Side Hustle for example).
You blame everyone else and circumstances. ( Capitalism for example)
As soon as you start talking about work, your spirits will plummet.
Working from 9 to 5, and using that money to buy social junk
Spending your money on the comfort zone/social pressure
The financial security of the job is better than starting a side hustle
Remember I said that these are silly things that society wants you to do.
You should not let this influence you
On the contrary, you should avoid these kinds of people.
Instead, look for people who inspire you. They can be people you know through networking.
The Social Matrix is as famous as it is notorious.
It is an endless everyday life, always the same routine.
Somehow you imagined that work life would be very different, but instead of pursuing your passion or making money from what you love, making money and making a living is on the schedule of the day.
Nothing comes from nothing, that’s true, but the social matrix only makes some happy.
Do you really want to be part of this party that will end before it starts?
Sometimes the choice of career is accidental.
Those who start a family at the same time have a lot of social pressure and obligations that make it difficult to recognize a social matrix and get out.
Getting out is not just about realizing that you are stuck, but some bridges:
Who am I?
Where am I coming from?
Where am I going?
Who is important to me?
What do I want to achieve?
What makes me happy?
Getting out is not a matter of desire, it is a matter of necessity.
It is easier to take on the same tasks and follow instructions every day than to plan your way into the unknown.
The unknown is scary.
You need to face uncomfortable thoughts and independently look for solutions for which you are not getting paid.
Choose one or more of these options and say no to society
Accept your own situation and cheer yourself up and escape the social matrix:
Be clear that your Planet is Mars and not Earth
Changing just to make a difference can also backfire.
You suddenly find yourself in a similar situation and things start all over again. You can avoid this by being clear with what you want and expect of yourself.
Know what your financial north is
The most common reason people get stuck is money. I can’t change anything or I need money to pay my bills. That’s fine, I understand.
We all need money, the rent has to be paid every month, other costs have to be covered and at the end of the month, if possible, there is still a little left over to put something back.
To get out of it, you must analyze your financial situation. It’s not just about how much you spend on what, but, you should think about this: is it worth it?
If you can answer yes, then it is important to see where you can save.
Take the exit slowly
Jumping out of a vicious cycle that is spinning at full light speed increases the chance that something will go wrong in the escape attempt. Like Prison Break. Before you break out of prison, you must slow down little by little.
Develop a financial cover (A side hustle)
There is no guarantee that you will get out of the matrix and everything will turn out the way you always dreamed it would. Start a side hustle and make money from your passion, finally do something meaningful and have enough free time to spend with your family.
Invest money in yourself.
Go live life the way you want and say no to social pressure.
