Your life is made of habits. Mine is made of habits too.
We like to walk the same route. Take the same means of transportation. And drink cold coffee or tea every morning.
We like to celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year with our families.
We are creatures of habit. Habits require little energy, and everything works automatically without much power of thought.
Most people fail and follow the flow again
Because everything has to go by quickly.
We live in a society where we want everything to be as fast and easy as possible.
Starting with the fact that you can order virtually anything, from a hot dog to a pet to the latest clothes.
What happens when you get used to such a fast “response” time?
You forget that some things just take time to grow and give results.
That’s why the initial motivation is great, but after two weeks or a month, it disappears again because you can see that things are not going as fast as expected.
This is where many give up on losing weight.
Most people stop at this point and go on with their normal daily lives. Lack of patience.
Habits are addictive, and that is a good thing
Unless they are bad habits, and they are not good.
A habit starts harmlessly at first, for example, having a morning coffee at Starbucks once a week. Over time, one is not enough, and the second is not far off.
If you give the habit enough time, start every day of the week with a morning Starbucks coffee.
However, if you use this principle to your advantage and get “addicted” to other things, like reading 15 pages of a book every day or cooking at home, you will form good habits.
How do you get rid of bad habits?
There is no perfect recipe for getting rid of bad habits; it often has to do with personality and character itself.
Are you rather passive and question little, or do you question even the most everyday things, of course, as in all areas, there is a healthy middle ground?
One of the most important aspects, in my opinion, is not to give a damn about others’ opinions.
By this, I do not mean that you should cover your ears and not listen to anything else, but filter out the nonsense.
In my life so far, I have had to experience many people forming opinions on subjects they have no idea about.
We live in a time when everyone calls themselves an expert and has an opinion about everything and everyone, even if they really have no idea.
Especially when you are under pressure, you should not fall into doubt. It is absolute destruction and leads to nothing.
How we use habits to our advantage
When we realize that habits determine our lives, we can get into the game and change the rules.
To list some of my habits, whether positive or negative:
Morning routine
Drinking black tea before work and chamomile tea before bed.
Spending too much time in front of the PC
Checking my smartphone for messages on Telegram
Watching Netflix in the evening
Investing in the stock market as a habit and not a coincidence
If you analyze most of your habits, you will discover that there are positive as well as negative habits.
Smoking, for example, is an excellent example of a bad habit that cost money, waste time, and are bad for your health. Not to mention that your teeth will turn yellow.
Many smokers know this and still smoke because they can’t get out of their habit. The addiction.
4 ways to know if they are good habits or not
For my health?
For my well-being?
For my environment?
For my wallet?
Always remember, if you don’t grow, you are dying.
To conclude, as I am aware of my habits, both positively and negatively, I can use my time much more efficiently.
Eat, invest, sleep, repeat
That’s it.
Once investing becomes a habit, an important step has already been taken.
What do I mean exactly?
In the beginning, most people are reluctant to invest their hard-earned money in any form of investment other than bank deposits, because they might lose everything in a crisis.
In my opinion, this is the wrong approach, not least because you lose purchasing power every year and compound interest works against you.
This is why you should start investing early. The amount doesn’t matter much. You must first control this inhibition and then take other steps.
Bottom line.
Nobody wants to be around people who are financially broke. Develop new sources of income to solve this bad habit.
Nobody wants to be around people who don’t have time to enjoy the good times. Take the time and solve this.
Nobody wants to be around people who care more about fast-moving cars and big houses than they do about people. Material things spoil. Memories last forever.
The rest you follow.
