I’m Making More Money Than I Did Last Year By Doing This
This is how you build your financial empire the smart way
A few years ago, I worked in a company called “Balance Economy,” and then we had this as an assignment in a course to learn how to make money from something that was not our job.
At first, people thought it was crap, but then so much creativity came up.
People bought chairs they remodeled and sold them on the quarter, someone made food cakes that later became popular at work.
This is how you build your financial empire the smart way
Most people online ask the question, “How can I make more money?”
That’s exactly the wrong question to ask.
The right question is, “How can I create more value for others?”
The background is that if I help others get what they want, they will help me get what I want.
Making more money should be the starting point rather than saving on your expenses.
There are limits to how much you can save, i.e., 100%. However, there are no limits to how much money you can make.
If a person has a 9 to 5 job with no specific interest or hobby. This person has nothing to do with a second income but now wants to earn more money.
You already have a job, you have your salary. If you get a new job offer with a higher salary, then you have a choice.
You may not want to change jobs, you may really like your job and not want to look for other jobs. What do you do then?
Take a year or as long as it takes to do these things, go to an online job platform and see what you’ve done to accomplish the things that are in demand. Don’t go in and demand things, but ask what you can create of value for others.
If you help others get what they want, they will help you get what you want. Read this again and write it down in a notepad.
Many are not willing to do that
Be unique. Don’t sell yourself at Starbucks prices.
If you only do what your client tells you to do, then your client cannot give you new tasks, you cannot advance in your career.
A good manager and a good company will understand that a person who can become indispensable is an important person because he can resign at any time, and understands the tasks well enough to automate or delegate them.
If there’s someone who can do my job faster, cheaper, or better than me, that’s the person who will do it, outsource it.
Always focus on creating high value.
That’s what matters.
You have to ask yourself why
The most important question to ask is why? Why am I doing this?
I save something today, time, skills, or money because I want more in the future. If you don’t have an answer to this, nothing will happen.
If we want to sum it up a little here: keep looking for something you feel comfortable doing until dawn, you don’t have to change jobs.
Make money from your interests, even if it’s just to buy Starbucks
When I started writing online, I was getting 0 views and $0. I found it fun to write, the first few years I didn’t make a dime, and now I can buy lots of Starbucks and lots of books to read.
Suddenly you can start saving more, it doesn’t have to be large sums to make a difference with the interest on interest effect.
The extra money you earn doesn’t have to be used to cover food or fixed fees. I really recommend giving it a try, it may take a while before you figure out how to do it.
Have several projects rolling
Four years ago, a friend told me that we often think we think sequentially.
He posted a question on Twitter saying “If money was not a concern, what would you do then?”
Then there were some who said start your own online biz or work online.
I thought gosh, you can start the company now. But often we think I should do that first, then the other. I’m much more into doing things in parallel.
How can you get these projects rolling?
Often comes the objection of how to have time. Very rarely is it about time, but it is about energy. We can’t afford it. What do I put my energy into?
Energy is special, you can be unhappy with your work, but if you know that you only have to do it for a year to be able to finance the project, suddenly you can find a lot of energy.
Our job as humans is to manage our energy. You and me.
Too often we put too much energy into things that are out of our reach, in the end, there is no energy left for what really matters.
This article comes down to this: Start filling empty gaps, and money will be the least of your problems.
