I worked in a store that sold custom-made suits. The boss thought of me as the best salesman in the store.
During Christmas 2019, the boss told me and my co-workers that from then on, all requests to change the measurements of the clothes could only be promised for two weeks after the date of the order or sale. My boss was the one who sewed the garments.
I considered that deadline a boulder in my shoe. There was no need for that much time.
As expected, a few hours later, a customer came into the store and said he would buy 11 suits, but on one condition: all alterations had to be ready in one week at the latest. The customer was in a hurry. It was his best friend’s wedding.
I disregarded the boss’s orders and promised the customer that the suits would be ready in a week.
When my working hours were over, my boss discovered the receipts, got angry with me, threw all 11 suits at me, and demanded to know who was going to make the alterations to them.
