I once had to pay a friend $1 for gas to drive home.
My friends never spent more on birthday gifts than absolutely necessary, and even my companions in the same building as me didn’t bother to take me out to dinner.
I still have a hard time lending money to friends.
And we’re not talking hundreds of dollars here. Let it be ten, twenty dollars. Of course, I hand out those amounts but for barbecue only.
For gifts or if someone doesn’t have money at the restaurant, that’s the way it should be. But to be honest, I’m often afraid of having to run after the money.
It’s annoying to say: Hey, sorry, could you pay back my ten dollars?
